Dogwood success
Our Salisbury players outdid themselves this weekend at our Dogwood Tournament. The Unit 169 leaders sent compliments to all of us saying that the event went off without a hitch, and made a profit as well, something very rare in their experience.
I send many thanks to all of you who helped with the manpower to set up tables and clean up at the end of the three days of play. Charlotte Brisbin was indispensable as the food/kitchen manager. Great job! Our reputation for excellent food is unsullied. I heard so many guests rave about the breakfasts Saturday and Sunday and the lunch on Sunday. Thanks to so many who baked, cooked and went out of their way to buy delicious food. You are all the best ever.
Many of our local players were playing for the first time in a tournament and hope it was a great experience. Our winners of the Lemmon Tray, given to the Non-Life Master player, earning the most master points at the tournament went to Fern Albracht and Christy Cline. The highest earners for those with less than 500 points were Judy Gealy and Carol Bachl. And once again the winner of the most points in the whole tournament went to Bill Wisdom who earned 51.17 points. Congratulations Salisbury on a splendid under taking.
We had no ordinary Evergreen game this week but we had a wonderful turnout at the Salisbury Women’s Club on Tuesday, March 13. Winning this game: N/S 1st Ron Caudle and BettyBonner Steele, 2nd Marie Pugh and Loyd Hill, 3rd Nancy Brandt and Tom Johnson;
E/W 1st Patsy Reynolds and Lawana Ford, 2nd Wayne Pegram and Dick Brisbin, 3rd Judy Hurder and Myrnie McLaughlin.
