Letter: It’s not just Trump; we want a parade, too

Every person that has spent more than a month or two in our military knows what it’s like to be in or see a military-type parade. It’s not a Christmas-type parade with floats and pretty girls throwing candy to small children. It moves along with the beat of a drum and military bands. It is saying the same thing that the sign on back of my truck says, “Proud to be an American.” That should be true for every American that ever served this country in or out of military service.

Now our commander in chief wants us to see a real military parade. What’s wrong with that? That man spent years in a military school. He knows how to render a right-hand salute. Did you see the last president try to salute the Marine guard coming off the Marine One Helicopter with a cup of coffee in his hand?

Now we have a real commander in chief. I am proud to say this. He can render a correct salute coming off the Air Force One to the Military officers or enlisted men. It shows courtesy and pride. We should all be proud of our country and what it stands for.
