SALISBURY — On Tuesday Salisbury Mayor Al Heggins proclaimed Feb. 23-25, 2018, as “Girl Scouts Hornets’ Nest Council Cookie Weekend.”

Girl Scouts Hornets’ Nest Council Cookie Weekend is a time to bring awareness to the important work of the organization and the lessons it teaches girls. Through the cookie program, young female entrepreneurs learn essential business skills such as goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics that help shape their future as leaders. 

The Girl Scouts Hornets’ Nest Council serves 16,000 girls and adults in eight North Carolina and South Carolina counties including Rowan, Anson, Cabarrus, Mecklenburg, Montgomery, Stanly, Union and York.
