Linda Beck: I Am

Published 12:00 am Saturday, February 17, 2018

I am a speaker and writer for my heavenly father. I was my mother’s daughter, my husband’s wife, and the mother of two little girls. Now I am a grandmother several times over.

In the Old Testament God said His name is “I AM.” He did not call himself “I was” or the great “I will be.” His name is I AM! It’s best if we not forget that!

In Second Corinthians 6:2 He says, “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.”

Paul wrote: “I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor; now is the day of salvation.”

A pastor said we should have now faith, not future faith! We should give thanks daily for our blessings. These prayers should be addressed to our “NOW TO GOD” instead of a God that doesn’t exist. We need to live in faith, being patient and expectant.

There is a song that tells me “I am an imperfect, but forgiven child of God and that I am greatly blessed and highly favored.” My experiences in being a speaker for the Lord have led me to feel both “greatly blessed and highly favored!”

He provided the opportunities, answered prayer for safety and timeliness in travel and blessed me with the approval and encouragement of the audiences. But most of all he has used me to bring lost souls into his presence.

At one of my last speaking engagements, several homeless ladies had been picked up and brought to the luncheon. One of these ladies invited Jesus into her heart after I led the group in prayer. Now my prayer is that the ladies in this club continued to minister to her. I know that God can change her life if she is led to reading the Bible, finding a church home, and continuing to hear stories of sinners like me who have come to a deep meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ.

In today’s world of texting (2018), individual letters from the alphabet are being used instead of writing out words. One very frequently used is “OMG” which stands for “Oh my God.” It is being used in times of trouble even by non-Christians and those of other religions.

Can this be that time “in the twinkling of an eye” when even non-believers will come to know and understand the 3 in 1 (God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit)?

Are you one of those who is lost? God may have helped me rewrite and update this story intended for just one reader to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior.
