Letter: Service extinct?
The writer is referring to a column published in the Post’s Jan. 21 Life section, “Who’s serving who?”)
Peggy Barnhardt must have borrowed my soapbox. I’m in total agreement with her about “fake” greetings in stores, lack of customer service, all the self-service and do-it-yourself trends. Even if you call for service, the answering machine reminds you that you can “do it yourself” on their website.
By the time I call for customer service, I’ve exhausted all other means of help, and I need to talk to someone.
Thanks, Peggy. I couldn’t have said it better.
