Local Bridge by Myrnie McLaughlin

January is the month to recognize the accomplishments of our members earned in the previous year.

Congratulations to Shirley Jeffers who reached Life Master status and to Ron Jeffers who attained Bronze Life Master. They join two others who also attained this rank. Pat Macon achieved NABC master(200pts)and Ron Caudle reached Sectional Master(50 pts). Congratulations!

There are two awards given on a local club level also earned in 2017. The June Evans Award is presented to the NLM who earned the most points in our two games. Fern Albracht was this year’s winner. Dick Brisbin was the winner of the Sower’s Award, given to the member earning the most points in our two Salisbury games.

Over the next two months there are several special games scheduled which will give higher point awards. Put these on your calendars: Jan. 23 will be a Junior Fund game at the Tuesdsay Women’s Club game and Friday Jan. 26 will be a Club Championship game at Evergreen. In February we are again participating in the Unit STaC games: Tuesday, Feb. 13 at the Women’s Club and Friday, Feb. 16 at Evergreen.
