Building Better Caregivers, a series of six workshops, will kick off from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Feb. 20 and continue on consecutive Tuesdays through March 27.

The workshops are sponsored by the Centralina Area Agency on Aging and Lutheran Services Carolinas.

Held at Lutheran Services Carolinas, 1416 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., the workshops are designed to help reduce stress for both caregiver and care partner, help improve health through self-care methods, help with management of difficult care partner behaviors and increase communication skills.

They also will offer information to equip participants to plan for the future and find information and resources.

The classes are free, but space is limited. Register by calling 980-521-3935.

Respite care for a care partner during class time may be available at Trinity Living Center, which is next door to Lutheran Services Carolinas. Call 704-637-3940 for information about availability.
