Houck earns Eagle Award

Eric Houck, 16, of Salisbury is receiving his Eagle Scout Award today, January 14, 2018, at Neel Road Baptist Church presented by Scoutmaster Greg Hager of Troop 476.

A troop guide with Troop 476, Eric has 37 merit badges. For his Eagle Scout project, Eric planned and placed a 35 foot flag pole at the entrance to Neel Road Baptist Church. Eric is very grateful for all the help and donations he received to complete the project.

An 11th-grader at West Rowan High School, Eric is the son of Terry Houck of Salisbury and Nita Houck of Salisbury. He is the grandson of James and Evelyn Houck of North Wilkesboro, Dean Clark of Burlington and the late Brenda Guffey of Burlington. He is the “adopted grandson” of Laura Sandridge and the late Will Sandridge of Salisbury.
