Letter: A tax cut — yes
As a chosen one with an income of less than $50,000 a year, I will receive a tax cut. My personal deduction goes up by $6,000, and a tax of 2.5 percent on my income (for not purchasing health insurance) goes back in my pocket. That is close to $7,500 of my own money the government doesn’t get.
I am so elated. Finally I can purchase health insurance for myself. A small, catastrophic policy with a high deductible — maybe a health savings account — with money left over.
There is no class envy in this household — only a return to individual responsibility and a smile for the return of my independence.
