Livingstone women fall to unbeaten Virginia State

ETTRICK, Va. — Virginia State remained undefeated here Saturday afternoon, topping Livingstone, 81-65, in CIAA women’s basketball action.

The Trojans moved to 14-0 overall and 4-0 in the CIAA while the Blue Bears fall to 5-8 and 0-3.

Virginia St. led at halftime, 46-29, and although the Blue Bears had a good third quarter (21-18), Livingstone could not make much of a dent into the margin.

Kyala Searcy and Taylor Perkins led the charge for Livingstone in the third quarter, but the Trojans moved into the final period with a 64-50 lead.

Searcy scored 17 points to lead Livingstone, followed by Perkins with 14 and Foote with 10. Searcy also had eight rebounds.

Chrisanna Green led the Trojans with 19 points and 16 rebounds.
