KANNAPOLIS — Work on the Kannapolis Streetscape and Infrastructure Project will close parts of Main Street this month.

Construction crews will be installing duct banks to allow power lines to go underground as a part of the downtown revitalization work.

Main Street will be closed between Vance and East C Street (206 S. Main St) through Jan. 8.

The northern driveway at Editions will be closed; customers can use the southern driveway.

Main Street will be closed between Mel Thompson’s building and Editions on Jan. 8-18. Both the northern and southern driveways will be accessible to motorists.

Detour signs will be posted to direct traffic onto Vance Ave, Oak Avenue, B Street and back onto Main Street.

The closure dates are approximate and may vary depending on weather and other factors.
