Rowan weather: Warmer today and Saturday, then frigid
Enjoy today and tomorrow, because we’re not going to see highs in the 40s for a while.
Today will be sunny, with a high of 41 and west wind around 5 mph. Tonight will be partly cloudy and cold, with a low of 35 and light south southwest wind.
Saturday will be mostly sunny and 47, with west wind at 5-7 mph. The low will be 23 with partly cloudy skies and west northwest wind at 5-7 mph. Winds will shift to the north northeast after midnight.
Sunday will be mostly sunny and cold, with a high of 32 and north northeast wind at 7-9 mph. The low Sunday night will be 16, so make sure to plug up all your outside vents, consider wrapping your pipes in insulation and leave a trickle of water running.
People and pets will need warm shelter and unfrozen water. Revelers on New Year’s Eve need to wear extra layers and protect their noses and eyes from the cold.
New Year’s Day will be sunny and below freezing, with a high of 31. The low will dip even lower, to 13 degrees.
Tuesday will be sunny and 32, with another low around 13.
We could hit 35 on Wednesday with mostly sunny skies, but the low will be 18.
Thursday will be mostly sunny again, but with another cold high of 32.
