Letter: Tax-reform benefits are not evenly or fairly distributed

The GOP Senate and House leaders continue to bombard us with the need for tax reform, which seems only to be justification for making the rich even richer. They claim all of us will benefit from tax reform, but as more facts leak out of their closed-door meetings, it seems the opposite is true in that the rich will become richer at the expense of those of us on the lower income levels.

Paul Ryan has already stated that more changes must be made in the budgets of the future to provide funds to pay for the tax reductions to the wealthy. Targeted are Medicare, Medicaid and other programs for the poorer Americans.

When will the public outcry against these drastic changes be heard? Those of us who will be affected must immediately make our dissatisfaction known to all elected lawmakers who speak out, and then vote, for these changes.
