CHARLOTTE — Queens remained unbeaten (4-0) Friday night with a lop-sided, 104-60 win over Livingstone, in men’s college basketball action at J.C. Smith’s Brayboy Gym.

The game was the opener of the JCSU Tip-Off Classic, with the host Golden Bulls playing Benedict in the second game.

Livingstone (0-1) will play Benedict today in the tournament’s first game at 2 p.m., followed by a matchup between JCSU and Queens.

Queens jumped ahead right away and coasted to a 48-26 halftime lead, shooting 58 percent from the field. The Royals blistered the nets for 71 percent in the second half as the gap grew to the final margin of 44 points.

For the game, Queens made 40 of 62 field goals and was led by Jalin Alexander’s 20 points.

Guard Roger Ray made 5 of 10 3-point attempts and ended up as the game’s high scorer with 22 points. Malik Smith followed with 10 for the Blue Bears.

Livingstone made just 17 of 64 shots for the game and was outrebounded, 48-35.

NOTE: Livingstone’s freshman twins, Navar and Lydell Elmore, both 6-9, made their debut. Navar Elmore started and had five points and six rebounds. Lydell Elmore came off the bench with two points and two boards. The twins are from Branchville (S.C.) High School.
