Letter: Good mission work

This is to let everyone know that Lyerly Funeral Home is teaming up with Main Street Mission of China Grove by hosting a non-perishable food drive for the holidays, ending on Jan. 2. Since the mission is open for limited days and hours they, this should be a great convenience, especially for those that live between Salisbury and China Grove. These items can be left at the funeral home during their regular hours.

I have found over the last nine and half years that this is the best of small-town missions, and I have learned that they serve all of southern Rowan County, not just China Grove.

In addition, Lyerly Pet Cremations and Lyerly Counseling Service have teamed up with the Humane Society of Rowan County by hosting a food and toy drive for pets through Jan. 2. These items can be left at Lyerly Pet Cremations, 523 S. Main St. in Salisbury, which is in the same building as the funeral home.
