Inaugural Invitational for LGA

SALISBURY — The inaugural Ladies Golf Association Invitational was held Wednesday at McCanless Golf Club.

Kristi Laton and Faye Cline took first place in the championship flight, followed by Susan Houston and Sharon Miller in second place.

In the first flight, Monica Green and Lori Hayes won first place, while Bev Cobb and Eileen Full finished second.

Four different golfers were closest to the pin on the four par 3s: Laton, Miller, Ellen Petrous and Azalee Story.

Great weather and great  support from Scott Perry and the McCanless Golf Club staff contributed to the success of the event.
