SPENCER — Howard White said he’s seeking re-election to the Spencer Board of Aldermen because there are things he’d like to see through.

“We got a lot of things going on,” he said.

White, 58, referenced the board’s work on updating town and building codes, its work to improve town infrastructure, a recent push to adjust business signage and a mission to improve overall safety and appearance in Spencer.

“We’ve still got a long way to go,” he said.

White said he also hopes to help bring more businesses to come to Spencer, and to improve town safety.

“You gotta make the citizens feel safe to make people even want to stay here,” he said.

White is from northern Pittsburg, but moved to Spencer in 1999 to be with family. He is a retired Air Force master meteorologist, where he worked for 23 years. He earned his degree in meteorology from the Department of Defense.

He and his wife, Rose, have three children.
