I was shocked by the sentiments expressed in the letter by Marguerite Young (“President Trump will bring nation to its knees,” Monday).

Maybe I misunderstood, but it appears that she’s hoping for the destruction of the United States which she feels is fortunately already underway.

The USA may not be perfect, but I don’t want my country destroyed from within by a misogynistic and dangerous conman.  Also a weakened country leaves us open to foreign threats and attacks.  As an American, a woman, and a U.S. Army veteran, I am truly horrified.  To wish for this in God’s name is a travesty.
