Trexler 50th Anniversary

Reverend Wayne Trexler and Doris Waynick Trexler of Granite Quarry celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 29, 2017. The couple celebrated their anniversary with a trip to the North Carolina mountains and a family trip to Georgetown, S.C. for a shelling and lighthouse cruise.

The Trexlers were united in marriage Sept. 29, 1967 at Lyerly Memorial Reformed Church in Rockwell by the Rev. Edwin Nagle. Wayne was a Bible history teacher at East Rowan High School from 1965-1971 and was a Southern Baptist minister from 1971-2013. Doris was an elementary teacher assistant and is a homemaker.

The couple have two children, Christy Trexler Shell and husband Darrell Shell of China Grove and Rev. Daryl Trexler and wife Dawn Daniels Trexler of Leland. They also have four grandchildren, Lauren and Sarah Shell and Abby and Ethan Trexler.
