Letter: Leave statue alone and honor all

Leave the statue alone & honor all
I just saw the article where an obviously liberal organization is again requesting the “Fame” statue at Innes and Church streets be relocated. I disagree with this wholeheartedly.
Our history, good and bad, is to be embraced, not deleted from our minds and history classes. This is what left-minded people want, so their brainwashing of everyone is not left with any facts.
This nation learned from its victories as well as its failures, and tearing down monuments and taking away everything that has made us great is a disservice to us all.
Leave the statue and let it honor the lives that we’re given to secure freedom. If it bothers you, don’t look at it.
It reminds me how far we have come. I’m a glass half-full person.
