Bame to be installed at Lutheran Chapel

The Rev. Susan McDaniel Bame will be installed as pastor at Lutheran Chapel Evangelical Lutheran Church, China Grove,  in a 3:00 PM worship service on Sunday. She previously served as the congregation’s interim pastor and was officially called as the full-time pastor on July 1.

The Rev. Bame is a native of Kannapolis where she presently resides. She is a graduate of A.L. Brown High School, and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of North Carolina in Greensboro in 1978 and her Masters degree in Human Development and Learning degree from the University of Charlotte in 1983. She taught English in both the Rowan-Salisbury and Kannapolis City School systems.

Pastor Bame graduated with a Masters degree in Divinity from the Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, SC in 2007 and served a multiple -point parish call of Holy Cross Lutheran in Mocksville and St. Paul Lutheran in Statesville from 2007- 2015. She also served an interim position at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Mt. Holly.

She is the daughter of Janet McDaniel of Kannapolis and the late A.L. McDaniel. Her children are Staff Sgt. Christopher Bame stationed in Ft. Bragg, NC and Laura and Brian Messenger of China Grove. She has a granddaughter, Emma Messenger.

A reception honoring Pastor Bame and her family will follow the installation service.
