Salisbury Fire Department veterans complete fire protection technology degrees

SALISBURY — Two Salisbury Fire Department officers have earned degrees from Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.

James Farley received his associate degree in fire protection technology on July 19. He is a 28-year veteran of the department and is a district captain.

Farley, who is the interim commander of the B Shift, is a North Rowan High School graduate. He and his wife, Rhonda, live in Salisbury. They have two children, Jared and Jamie.

Tim Hurlocker received his associate degree in fire protection technology, also on July 19. Hurlocker is a 27-year veteran of the department and is a battalion chief.

He is a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School. Hurlocker and his wife, Sandra, live in Mount Pleasant. They have two children, Garrett and Kelby.

Hurlocker is the commander of the A Shift.
