SALISBURY — The Salisbury-Rowan Branch of the NAACP will hold a City Council candidates forum Sept. 21.

Doors will open at 6 p.m., and the forum will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. It will be held at the Salisbury Civic Center, 315 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave.

“The purpose of the candidate forum is to give Salisbury voters an opportunity to hear candidates discuss the issues of importance to them in this election,” said chapter President Gemale Black in a news release.

Black said the forum will follow the “nonpartisan, unbiased and impartial format established by the Salisbury-Rowan NAACP.”

The forum will be moderated by Margaret Simms-Maddox, chairwoman of the history and political science department at Livingstone College. Candidates will answer questions submitted by audience members.

The forum is free and open to the public.
