Letter: Slow down, truckers

Published 12:00 am Saturday, September 9, 2017

I want to thank Elizabeth Cook for the article in Sunday’s paper on the tankers on Bringle Ferry Road and the action that is being taken.

As you probably know, I am the one waving my hands at the trucks. Since the first article, there have been fewer trucks, and the drivers know where I live and have slowed down compared to before.

I was out on Friday around 5:30 a.m. on Bringle Ferry and a tanker came flying down the road. At a distance of about a half mile, he slammed on the brakes when in saw my flashlight and went by me doing 20 mph.

I do believe they know they are being watched, and hopefully things will change.

Thanks for all of your help before another accident happens. Here to help any way I can.
