Pony-Palooza rescue benefit is this weekend

The Pony-Palooza features family fun, vendors, food, ice cream, ponies and minis. IT will be held at the Ellis Event Center, 2056 East Ridge Road. From 10 a.m.–3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9, experience this pony show and fundraiser for Midnight’s Promise Equine Rescue.

Events include:

• The Parade of Ponies: Ponies wear their fancy parade finery;

• Obstacle Course: Both ridden and in-hand, ponies demonstrate their willingness and skill;

• Ride-a-buck: Participants ride bareback in the arena while sitting on a dollar. Last person with their dollar wins the pot;

• Crossrails: Riders jump their ponies over cross rails;

• Best Trick: participants show how smart their ponies are and tricks their ponies will do;

• Poles: Timed event in which riders weave between 6 poles;

• Costume: Pony shows their creative sides;

• Barrels: Riders compete for fastest time around set of barrels;

• Open Pleasure Class: Open to English and Western walk, trot canter.

Prizes will also be awarded for cutest pony, naughtiest pony and owner/pony look-a-like.
