SALISBURY — The 18th Rowan Blues & Jazz Festival will be held Oct. 21 in the parking lot off the 200 block of West Fisher Street.
There will be a “reunion” theme to this year’s festival. “Remembering our early years,” festival founder and organizer Eleanor Qadirah says.
The Rowan Blues and Jazz Society puts on the event. Volunteers to help with this year’s festival are still needed, Qadirah says, and anyone interested should contact rbjs@carolina.rr.com.
Gates will open Oct. 21 at 12:30 p.m., and featured musicians will play from 4-11 p.m.
The festival lineup this year will included Mac Arnold and Plate Full of Blues; Blazin Blues Bob; Live House; Stephen R. Gordon Jazz Trio; Joe Robinson and Friends; Diana Tuffin; and Butch Stewart.
Early-bird registration rates are available. For more information and updates, check the society’s website at www.rowanbluesandjazz.org.
“It’s reunion time,” Qadirah says.
