SALISBURY — Community organizers have planned a voter registration information session for Saturday at Firewater Restaurant and Lounge, 122 Avalon Drive.

Co-organizer Brenda Peoples said the program will be from 2 to 3:30 p.m. It is designed for people who not registered to learn about the voting process and recent changes in registration and to provide a place for people to ask questions about the election process.

“We are trying to make sure people who are curious can be informed,” Peoples said.

She and co-organizers Ash Love and Anansa Lattimore were talking recently and came up with the idea.

People said the upcoming municipal election is important and they want people to be informed.

Rosalind Mitchell of the Rowan County Board of Elections will be on hand to answer questions.
