We share Bishop Tim Smith’s concern that many of us are not speaking out against the evils of racism and white nationalism. Our current president’s words that excuse neo-Nazi groups and their sympathizers should be a major concern for all of us. We should have been more aware that scenes like this would play out when the Republican primaries seemed more like a Jerry Springer television show.

We are proud of our Bishop and hope he will inspire others in leadership positions to condemn racism. We can do our part to end hate and racism by being instruments of God’s peace.
