Rowan weather: Heat index around 100 today

Today will be mostly sunny and 92, with heat index values around 100-102 degrees. A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms moves in after 3 p.m. Some of the storms could be severe, with damaging winds and frequent lightning.

Sunday will be mostly sunny and 90, with a low of 71.

Monday, the day of the eclipse, will be mostly sunny and 90, with another low of 71.

Tuesday brings a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mostly after noon. It will be mostly sunny and 91. The low will be 72.

Wednesday has a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with partly sunny skies and a high of 90. The same chance of rain is possible Wednesday night, with a low of 69.

Thursday will have a 30 percent chance of rain, but will be partly sunny and 86.
