Continued heat and humidity today will lead to a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. Some of the storms could become severe, with damaging winds and frequent lightning.

It will be partly sunny with a high of 90 and little wind. Less than a tenth of an inch is expected, except more in thunderstorms.

Tonight we still have a 40 percent chance of showers and storms, with fog forming around 4 a.m. It will be mostly cloudy and 73 with south wind at 3-5 mph. Little accumulation is expected.

Friday also has a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 11 a.m. We’ll see patchy fog in the morning, then it will be partly sunny with another high of 90. Winds will become southwest at 6 mph in the afternoon. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected.

Friday night’s chance of rain is 30 percent, with a low of 70.

Saturday will be mostly sunny and 89 with a 20 percent chance of rain. Calm wind. The low will be 70.

Sunday will be mostly sunny and 90, with a low of 71.

Monday, the day of the eclipse, should be mostly sunny and 89, so viewing opportunities will be good. The low will be 71.

Tuesday will be mostly sunny and 90 with a 30 percent chance of showers and storms. The low will be 70.

And Wednesday will be partly sunny and 88 with a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms and showers.
