Rowan County Corn Field Day on Thursday

The Rowan County Cooperative Extension will host a Corn Field Day from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday at Moore Farms, at 2225 Hall Road in Mount Ulla.
The afternoon will include viewing and discussing the 20 varieties of corn planted. The multicounty trial included Caldwell, Iredell, Stokes, Forsyth and Wilkes counties.
One hour of pesticide credits will be offered in the D, N, O and X categories.
Topics to be covered will be herbicide and insecticide issues and variety differences. Ron Heiniger of N.C. State University will be the guest speaker.
Representatives from seed companies will answer questions or discuss their varieties.
