SALISBURY — Three of four people wanted for their involvement in a weekend brawl outside Go Burrito restaurant have turned themselves in to face misdemeanor charges, the Salisbury Police Department said Tuesday.

Police charged Danielle Papin Cole, 31, of the 500 block of Harbor Road, Norwood; John Robert Cole, 32, also of the 500 block of Harbor Road; and Justin Dewitt Cole, 28, of the 32200 block of Valley Drive, Albemarle, with misdemeanor affray or fighting.

Police provided few details but said a group of people were at Go Burrito about 1:15 a.m. Sunday when some in the group became involved in an altercation. An off-duty officer responded to the scene shortly after the fight was broken up. No arrests were made at the scene.

Police reports show the three turned themselves in just before 6 p.m. Monday and were taken to the Rowan County Magistrate’s Office. All were given a written promise to appear in court Sept. 14.

Warrants say John Cole, Justin Cole and Jake Riddle Molvey assaulted each other by punching. Molvey was grabbed during the altercation, warrants say.

Molvey had not turned himself in as of Tuesday.

No other details were provided on the warrants.

A video that has been shared hundreds of times on Facebook shows part of the fight that occurred on the restaurant’s patio. There was much discussion on social media about the delay in arresting those involved because they are white. Two black men were shot and killed in the same area early July 29.
