Letter: Good people

On June 28, I was headed to Knox Middle to watch one of our grandsons play basketball. I got to Mocksville Avenue and because I was running behind I turned too close and hit a curb. It blew out my tire.
A good Samaritan named Taska, (so sorry I can’t remember your last name) pulled in beside me. She offered to change it for me, but when she got to the spare she said, “I’m sorry, but this car is newer than I have ever changed.”
So we called several different places to see if they could help me, including AAA. They said it would be an hour before they could get there. My husband and son were both working. She even called her mechanic, but he was busy. I didn’t know what I was going to do.
I finally decided to call Robin McIntyre, who owns McIntyre’s of Rockwell and is a close friend of ours. He said he would be there in 30 minutes and he was. God bless him.
Taska remained with me all this time. She was so nice and helpful to me. I just want to thank her and Robin again for their kindness. There are still good people in the world.
