Saint Peter’s Lutheran Church collects a “noisy offering”

Submitted by Pastor Sean Barrett

The children at Saint Peter’s Lutheran Church have been busy all year collecting change for a “noisy offering” each week. Over this past year, they have given almost $1,000. Additionally, produce from the church’s garden has been made available to the Community Care Clinic in Salisbury. Money given for this produce has been added to the noisy offering.

These funds were used to purchase school supplies for children in need. The upcoming North Carolina Missions of Mercy dental program will also be promoted by handing out toothbrushes and floss given by Dr. Robert Ogden in Granite Quarry. These items are available on a first-come, first-served basis at the East Branch of the Rowan Public Library in Rockwell from 10-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 12.
