Seniors receive Novant Health volunteer scholarship

The Novant Health Rowan Medical Center Auxiliary Board of Directors recently awarded three volunteer scholarships at its July 20 luncheon meeting.

Recipients include: Helen Faulk, Wesley Moore and Chandni Shah. The Auxiliary awards scholarships to deserving graduating seniors to further their education at the school of their choice.  This year there are over 40 students currently volunteering in the the Junior Volunteer Program that is directed by Diane Hundley.

Eastman School of Music

Alden Wright, a freshman majoring in applied music at the Eastman School of Music of the University of Rochester, has been named to the Dean’s List for academic achievement for the spring 2017 semester. Wright, a resident of Faith, is the child of Brian Wright and Tammy Wright, and a graduate of Jesse C. Carson High School in China Grove.

Students possess exceptional technical skill and discipline as well as outstanding scholarship. Western Governers University

Krystal Deal, of Cleveland, and Wendy Graffius, of Salisbury, have received their degree from Western Governors University. The university held its 33rd semi-annual commencement ceremony at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City on July 15 and celebrated the graduation of more than 10,000 graduates.
