West Rowan alumna elected as state FFA vice president

MOUNT ULLA — Madeline Wilhelm of Mount Ulla was elected vice president of the state Future Farmers of America on June 22 at the 89th state FFA convention.
Wilhelm will serve a one-year term as an ambassador for youth, agriculture and education. She will travel over 100 days visiting FFA chapters, meeting with agribusiness leaders and representing the North Carolina FFA Association at state and national meetings.
Wilhelm is the daughter of Anthony and Cristina Wilhelm. She is a graduate of West Rowan High School, where Jason Chester, Alex Silliman, Matthew Owen and Victoria Cardea were her agricultural education/FFA instructors.
She is a student at North Carolina State University majoring in agronomic science.
The North Carolina FFA Association has 19,301 members in 282 FFA chapters.
