Rowan weather: Hot, chance of storms

Today we have a 30 percent chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3 p.m. These storms may produce frequent lightning and damaging winds.

We’re starting out mostly sunny, and will see a high near 90. Calm wind will become southwest at 5-9 mph in the afternoon. A tenth of an inch of rain is possible, except for higher amounts in thunderstorms.

Tonight’s chance of showers and storms is also 30 percent, and mostly will occur before 8 p.m. The low will be a sticky 72 degrees, with south southwest wind at 5-8 mph. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected.

Friday has a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mostly in the afternoon. It will be mostly sunny with a high of 89 and west wind at 8-10 mph. Again, less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected, except higher in thunderstorms.

Friday night will be partly cloudy and 70, with west southwest wind at 3-5 mph.

The weekend will be very warm, but the chance of showers and thunderstorms goes down to 20 percent Saturday, and most storms will be after 1 p.m. It will be mostly sunny and 90, with west wind at 5-8 mph.

The same chance of rain holds through Saturday night, with partly cloudy skies and a low of 67.

For Sunday, it will be mostly sunny and 86, with a low of 67 under partly cloudy skies.

Monday will be mostly sunny, too, with a high of 87. The low will be 70, with more partly cloudy skies.

Tuesday brings a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, and will be mostly sunny and 88.

Tuesday night also has a 30 percent chance of storms and showers and a low of 70.

And Wednesday will have a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms with partly sunny skies and a high near 89.
