I’m writing this to express my indignation toward whoever sneaked in my backyard the other night and left five beautiful kittens and their mother on my deck.

I am 92 years old and already have three cats, and I am not able to care for any more.

After trying to find good homes for them, to no avail, I had to take them to the Cabarrus County Animal Shelter, where if no one adopted them they would be killed.

This broke my heart. I can’t describe the pain I felt leaving those precious little kittens, knowing they probably would have to be put down. Whoever you are, I hope this letter touches your heart. Pet owners, please be responsible and get your pets spayed or neutered!
