GREENSBORO — A Greensboro man who was wanted in the June 11 murder of Antonio Lee after a dispute at an East Spencer apartment complex was arrested Monday by Greensboro police, the East Spencer Police Department said.

Authorities were looking for 32-year-old Howard “Mike Mike” Manuel Mickel III, who they say faces charges of felony first-degree murder and felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Lee, 26, was shot after a domestic altercation at an apartment in East Spencer. Lee was shot in the head and died outside between two apartments. East Spencer Police Chief Sharon Hovis told the Post that alcohol was involved in the incident.

Mickel was arrested about noon Monday and by early afternoon was being transported back to Rowan County. Bond information was not immediately available.

The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office joined the East Spencer Police Department and the State Bureau of Investigation in the investigation.

Mickel is from Greensboro but had recently been hanging out in the East Spencer area, authorities said. Mickel also has an outstanding warrant in Guilford County for misdemeanor assault on a female.

Mickel was placed on the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office most-wanted list last week.
