The Rowan History Club

The Rowan History Club will meet Tuesday, June 13 at 7 p.m. at the China Grove Roller Mill. The program, “Flour Power,” will be presented by Rowan Museum’s Executive Director Aaron Kepley.

The China Grove Roller Mill is the most recent historic property obtained by the Rowan Museum. The Roller Mill was obtained when the Historical Society of South Rowan voted to disband and merge all their assets with the Rowan Museum. This program will explore both the importance of roller mills to the development of Rowan County agriculture and their impact on rural communities like China Grove. Past members of the Historical Society of South Rowan will be present to help with tours of the mill and answer any questions.

A roundtable format will allow for a thirty-minute presentation, followed by a question and answer period. The Rowan History Club is open to all persons interested in the history of Rowan County. There are no dues or admission fees, and refreshments are served. The China Grove Roller Mill is located at 308 N. Main St., China Grove.
