SALISBURY  — There’s more going on behind the red door of Timeless Wigs and Marvelous Wigs besides just wigs. The business recently relocated to the other end of the block at 121 W. Innes St.

Owner Deleika Wilson initially took over some of the inventory and merged with a previous shop that mostly catered to clients who had cancer, but she’s expanded those services into custom wigs, hair pieces, toppers and wigs for men.

Wilson said the decision to move was a hard one, but part of the reason for the move, was so that Timeless Wigs could have its own identity. The new location is smaller, but Wilson has the same number of pieces that cover all ethnicities and styles.

“I tried to focus more on quality rather than quantity,” she said.

The wigs come in synthetic, human and blended hair that can be customized to fit the customer. The shop also carries scarves that are typically worn by patients who’ve lost their hair to chemotherapy and come pre-tied and in different styles and colors.

Wilson has hair toppers for people with thinning hair or who’ve lost part of their hair to alopecia. The wigs and other pieces range in price from $29.99 up to $1,200 and other can be ordered that cost around $3,000.

The shop also offers customization of wigs and hair pieces with an in-house stylist as well as wash and conditioning of wigs even if they were not purchased at the store. Wilson said sometimes older wigs tend to fray at the bottom and they can cut the wig to create a new look.

The shop also offers wig parties that include makeup artists, refreshments, wig try-ons and customization.

Timeless Wigs and Marvelous Things is open from 10-4 Monday and Saturday, 10-6 Tuesday through Thursday, 10-7 Friday and is closed on Sunday.
