Dixonville Cemetery bench to be dedicated to Floyd Kerr May 5
A bench along the path to Lincoln School will be dedicated May 5 to the late Floyd A. Kerr III.
The dedication ceremony will be at 11 a.m. at the sign kiosk of Dixonville Cemetery, 110 Old Concord Road. A reception and refreshments will follow in the fellowship hall of nearby First Calvary Baptist Church, 400 S. Long St.
Parking will be available in lots adjacent to Lincoln Pool and the church. Trolleys will provide transportation to the kiosk and also will return to the church.
Kerr was a longtime employee of the Salisbury Parks and Recreation Department and was involved in youth athletics most of his life.
The dedication is sponsored by the Dixonville-Lincoln Memorial Project Task Force.
