When his iPad went on the fritz, 10-year-old Eli Thomas hit on a low-tech solution to raise some repair funds. He set up a roadside lemonade stand Saturday at his home in China Grove, hoping to cash in on passersby working up a thirst on a warm spring day. As you can see from the sign at left, it was a pretty sweet deal — big cups for a buck, with smaller sizes going for 50 cents.
