State offers $5,000 reward for information in Iredell County murder

Gov. Roy Cooper has announced that the state is offering a reward of as much as $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murder of James Barnard Brewer of Iredell County.
On Sept. 12, 2011, at 11:41 p.m., the Statesville Police Department received reports of shots fired in the Jonathan Lane area of the city. Brewer, 30, was found in the passenger seat of his Chevrolet pickup. He had been shot in the chest multiple times. Brewer was transported to the local hospital, where he died of his wounds.
