ROCKWELL —This Sunday Immanuel Lutheran Church will begin a new BLTZ Collection for the Organ Lutheran Church Outreach Ministries. (BLITZ: Bring Lots of Items to Zap…hunger, poverty, weather, etc.) Items to bring: cans of corn and fruit, shampoo, soap, toothpaste. These items can be brought to Immanuel any time between Sunday and Wednesday. Immanuel Lutheran is one of several community congregations which partners with Organ Lutheran in providing the Outreach Ministry services. Gospel benefit concert

MOCKSVILLE — The Advocacy Center & CareNet Counseling Inc. of Davie County are faith-based, non-profit organizations that coordinate resources to stand in the gap to help prevent homelessness for those in need. They are sponsoring a Gospel Benefit Concert Sunday at 4 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 390 N. Main St. Two gospel groups will perform: Risen Son Quartet, a Southern Gospel Christian Vocal Group of the Mocksville area along with special guest the Big 4 Choir, a gospel group comprised of alumni of four Historically Black High Schools (Anderson, Atkins, Carver, Paisley) of Winston-Salem.
