Rowan weather: Showers Saturday, even more Sunday

Today will be mostly sunny and warm, with a high of 84, but a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms is possible this afternoon. Winds will be from the west southwest at 5-9 mph.

Thunderstorms this afternoon and evening could be strong to severe, with damaging winds, large hail and brief heavy rainfall.

The chance of rain tonight is 40 percent, with a low of 62 and south southwest wind at 3-5 mph.

Saturday starts off with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, but with partly sunny skies and a high of 82. South southwest winds will be at 5-7 mph.

Scattered strong storms and isolated severe storms are possible, with heavy rainfall, large hail and damaging winds. Up to a quarter inch of rain is possible.

Saturday night, the chance of showers and storms goes up to 60 percent. It will be mostly cloudy, with a low of 57 and east southeast winds around 10 mph. Up to a half inch of rain is possible.

For Sunday the chance of rain is 80 percent, with a high of 65 and northwest wind around 11 mph. The same chance continues through Sunday night, with a low of 51.

Monday has a 40 percent chance of showers during the day, and will be mostly cloudy with a high of 66. The chance of rain drops to 30 percent Monday night, with a low of 51.

Skies begin to clear Tuesday, with partly sunny conditions and a high of 72. The low will be 53.

It warms up Wednesday, with a high of 79 under mostly sunny skies. The low will be 58.
