Chandler Concrete presents awards

John Veach was awarded the Chandler Concrete Dispatcher of the Year for 2016. John is a 10-year veteran with Chandler and he received his award at the Chandler annual meeting in Burlington. Employees are judged by the following criteria: reliability, dependability, dispatch errors, load accuracy, phone etiquette, respect, community service and being a team player.

Junnie Edwards was awarded the Chandler Concrete & Building Supply Block/Loader/Building Supply Employee of the Year for 2016. Junnie is a 11-year veteran with Chandler and he received his award at the Chandler annual meeting in Burlington.  Employees are judged by the following criteria: reliability, dependability, appearance, load accuracy, operations awareness,  respect, community service and being a team player.

Tiki Island Pool Express celebrates grand opening

CHINA GROVE — On March 18 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., Tiki Island Pool Express in China Grove will be celebrating its grand opening with a spring luau.

There will be free food from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a prize give-away at the top of each hour. One lucky winner will go home with a Plancha Coroa II Outdoor Griddle, a $298 value. A jousting ring and other events will also be held.
