Rowan weather: A cooler week ahead

Starting a new week with mostly cloudy skies and chilly temperatures, we can expect cooler, less violent weather.

The high today will be 64, with calm wind becoming south southwest at 5-9 mph. Tonight will be mostly cloudy, too, with a low of 48 and south wind at 5-8 mph.

A 40 percent chance of showers is possible Tuesday afternoon. It will be cloudy and 67, with south southwest wind at 7-14 mph, gusting up to 22 mph. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected.

The rain chance goes to 90 percent Tuesday night, with a low of 49 and south southwest winds around 10 mph. A tenth to a quarter inch of rain is possible.

Wednesday will be mostly sunny and 66, with winds picking up again, this time from the west. Winds will blow at 8-13 mph in the morning and gust up to 21 mph. The low will be 38 with mostly clear skies.

Thursday will be sunny and 67, with a low of 45.

And Friday will be mostly sunny and 68, with a low of 43.

Then a chance of showers returns for the weekend, with a 40 percent chance on Saturday. Skies will be partly sunny, leading to a high of 64. The chance of rain goes up to 50 percent Saturday night, with a low of 44.

Sunday will also have a 50 percent chance of showers, with partly sunny skies and a high of 65.
