EAST SPENCER — A 31-year-old Salisbury man was shot three times and hospitalized on Friday, but he won’t tell police who did it.

Jerome Collins, a Salisbury resident, was shot in his torso and leg at between 7 and 7:15 p.m. on Friday, said East Spencer Police Chief Sharon Hovis. A bullet also grazed Collins’ face, Hovis said. Emergency personnel transported Collins to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital, but Hovis said the injuries were not life threatening.

She said the incident occurred in the parking lot of Grant Street Apartments. Collins had previously been banned from the location.

Hovis said Collins declined to cooperate with police officers.

The case is still under investigation.

The East Spencer Police Department received assistance from the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, Spencer Police Department, Salisbury Police Department and Rowan County Emergency Services.
