MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — For the second straight day, Salisbury’s Michael Childress shot a 78 at the Dustin Johnson World Junior Golf Championship, Saturday at TPC Murrells Inlet.

Childress’ two-day score of 156 (78-78) is good enough for a 40th place tie.

The event’s 104-player field, which includes boys and girls divisions, is comprised of the game’s next generation of stars. Players from 19 states and five countries are participating in the 54-hole tournament.

Childress is the only local golfer playing in the event, which concludes with today’s third round.
